Random Trivia

The phrase "Not for all the tea in China" is a misnomer.

China only grows about 10% of the world's supply. India supplies about 1/3.

Still, that's a lot of tea.

For some bizarre reason, i knew that!

I'm not a big tea drinker but I do love the little tea shop in town. I can stand a little tea to be in that serene atmosphere.

Well, maybe they import a lot from India, so that makes the tea IN China a huge amount. :-)

I don't function well without my morning tea. Or my afternoon tea, for that matter.

The funny thing about this phrase is that through the years I've bastardized it to read "for all the tea in England," which I know isn't factual either!

I'm quite the tea drinker ... lost without it, really.

Thanks for the information!

That is a lot of tea. I wouldn't want to get hit by the boat carrying it all.

Matthew - I didn't know about the new book... I'll have to check it out, thanks.

Michelle - I do my best to enlighten, but the thing about trivia is you never know what other people know...

Cassie - there are a couple really good teas out there. I suggest Celestial Seasonings' Sleepytime tea. It's quite good.

EP - back in the AF, my roommate and I would have a cup of tea at the end of the day to relax after classes.

WH - I aim to please!
