I went to Radio Shack today and purchased a new cable to attach my new computer to our modem. We had a problem, you see, in that there is no telephone jack in the room in which we keep our computer. This wasn't a problem with the laptop, as we just used our wireless router. This turns out to be less effective with the new computer, however, as it has Windows 7 and does not appear to be compatible with the wireless router that we have.
I will need to check for a patch to see if there's something we can download to make it compatible. Otherwise, we'll need to purchase a new wireless router, which is fine by me.
Job search is still going. Lots of outs, no ins.
we have cable internet and only one outlet in the whole house. No wireless router. We just have the computer next to the tv. :)Cassie
