This blog is a collection of what goes through the mind of a father, a husband, a son, a friend, a lawyer (not your lawyer), and a storyteller, all competing for attention in my head. The golden rule applies here.

taking a look
We're not sure we're actually going to do it, but we had a contractor come out yesterday to look at our windows to get an estimate on new or replacement double-panes. We'll see what the estimates are. I think at the very least we're going to replace the windows in the Apple's room (it's broken), and, depending on the cost, possibly the windows in the Princess's and Boy's rooms, just to improve the insulation in their rooms...

we had a guy come give us window estimates recently. after telling him we would also be soliciting competing bids, he gave us a very hard sell. we chatted with him for a while, and he revealed he only got commission if he made the sale right then. that seemed pretty crappy; it incents him to hard sell and means we cant give him credit for his hours of selling if we do later decide to buy from them.
I have never been sorry that I had all new windows installed here. It made a huge difference in terms of warmth in the winter, is cooler in the summer, and cut way down on outside noise.
It's too bad you aren't here; Eddie Wells works for Penguin windows.
Eddie Wells works for Milguard.
PS. The commission bit sounds like a line.
