This blog is a collection of what goes through the mind of a father, a husband, a son, a friend, a lawyer (not your lawyer), and a storyteller, all competing for attention in my head. The golden rule applies here.

On blogging
I'm losing my motivation lately. I miss the days of respectful disagreement with another's position. To my recollection, I've not targeted a private individual on a post, though I have been critical of some politicians and Sarah Palin. While more often than not my take on a topic has met with polite discourse, there have been enough ad hominem assaults to sour my taste for this. That I have less time than in days past to devote to a regular contribution of better-suported posts and my comments have been wanting of late, leads me to my thought that perhaps it's time for a break. I don't think I can quit altogether, but I feel the urge to submit my time as I had. We'll see what happens after my trip.

Though I don't regularly read your (or anyone's) blog I don't seem to ever recall anyone besides me disagreeing with you. So, obviously you are talking about me.
In my last two comments to you I tried to be polite but to the point. I even pointed out when I agreed with you or when you shot holes in my argument. If you think I was assaulting you then I apologize. I was answering your questions. I specifically didn’t respond to DB because of his attacks, assumptions, sarcasm.
You stay, I’ll go away.
I'm sorry people are not respectfully disagreeing. I remember when this was a place for great debates, and when the Golden Rule was followed. You know I'm not much for politics and that I rarely read blogs anymore. What I do understand I tend to agree with you for the most part. Nurture or nature?
I completely agree with the time issue. I reached the conclusion months ago that I didn't have time necessary to devote to thoughtful, well-developed blog posts. And lately I haven't kept up with anyone's blog. (I have 54 binjo ditch unread blogs as I type ...er, now only 53).
Regarding other people's comments and their effect on you, let them disagree, civilly or otherwise. Blog for you, not them.
BTW, I have a foster dog living with me again. She is an American Staffordshire Terrier, probably about 6 months old. Interested?
I need more details before committing to that offer, intriguing though it sounds.
You say it's an American Staffordshire Terrier? How are they/she with kids? Is she housebroken? Does she chew stuff up? Is she spayed? Is she a she? If she's a he is he neutered? When are we going to have lunch again, or did I scare everyone off with my high quality jokes and a venue consisting of the Guardians?
