Talent

I think our kids have musical ability. The Boy can read music - he taught himself last week. The Princess can already play by ear. I think she played "Hot Cross Buns" the first time she picked up the Boy's recorder...

I'm impressed.

I can speak music fluently. It's my native tongue. Perhaps the boy and I can speak in a foreign language the next time we meet.

Speaking of ... I may have to go to the office to help with a Partner's trial which starts on Wednesday (the case has been pending for 9+ years). If not, are you guys open for lunch/dinner on Saturday?

We are. I have to get new tires for the minivan in the morning, but we should be able to get together for a late lunch/early dinner type deal.

You know, your Bapa was very talented, ;musically. He taught himself to play a number of instruments by ear, including mouth harp, harmonica, concertina, and even some piano. It may have skipped a generation with me, and moved straight to you, Steve. Of course, your Uncle Steve played coronet and was always first chair. My cousin Lee Ann (the blind cousin) played piano and organ by ear. Dad had an uncle who played violin...and then there is your sister. As for me, I can barely play the radio, and have little or no appreciation for music. I always have had some small residual anger at my parents for not giving me music lessons. I love to sing, though! Anyway, I'm sure your kids come by their ability naturally.
