It's a Sin!

A Catholic Priest in North Carolina has told parishioners that they should forgo communion and seek penance for voting for Barack Obama.

Apparently voting for a candidate who supports the right for someone else to decide whether or not she should have an abortion is placing one under divine judgment. I did not know this.

The Church has what they call the 'five non-negotiables'

"These five issues are called non-negotiable because they concern actions that are always morally wrong and must never be promoted by the law. It is a serious sin to endorse or promote any of these actions, and no candidate who really wants to advance the common good will support any of the five non-negotiables."

1. Abortion
2. Euthanasia
3. Fetal Stem Cell Research
4. Human Cloning
5. Homosexual "Marriage"

Now ya know. :)

I think what the priest did was out of touch with an average American. If I were a spiritual leader, I would have a hard time telling a parent who has a child or spouse in Iraq or someone who is about to lose their job, mortgage, retirement, etc. to focus their vote solely on abortion.

But then again, his congregation seems to support his actions, and that's what matters most.

Yeah, whatever, priest guy. Catholic women have abortions at the same rate as non-Catholics. Who cares who they voted for! It is seriously time for those dudes in the fancy dresses and hats to get with the times and support contraception already, even if they're not ready to accept abortion yet.
