Don't read this

I'm Henry VIII I am
Henry VIII I am I am
I got married to the widow next door
She's been married seven times before and
every one was a Henry (Henry!)
She wouldn't take a Willy or a Sam (No sir!)
I'm her eighth old man, I'm Henry
Henry VIII I am

Second verse, same as the first!

There's more before this, but...

You said I was so naive and I thought that I was strong. I said I can leave, I can leave. Oh, but I was wrong because I missed you. Yeah, I missed you. And you say I only hear what I want to, I don't listen hard, don't pay attention to
the distance that you're running, to anyone, anywhere, I don't really care. I'm only hearing negative, no no no .... so I turn the radio on, I turn the radio up and this woman was playing my song. Lovers in love and other other runs away. Lover is crying but the other won't stay. Some of us hover while we're waiting for the other whose been dying since the day they were born. Well, I thought that I was throwing but I was thrown.

and on and on...

Darn you, Steve. I last heard that song in about the third grade, and it's been rattling around in my head all these decades hence. I thought someday it would disappear, but no--you have to go and revive it.

I may have to retaliate.

EP, I'm hurt!

Didn't I specifically say "Don't Read This?"

And now you threaten revenge? Tsk tsk tsk (shakes finger)

I love that song Kirsten. Reminds me of my misspent(sp?) youth.

And Steve does have a knack for things that linger....

kirsten, i really like the part that you sort of skim over in that song. she says, "i'm only hearing negative, no no no, BAD!" which is the funniest bad line EVER.

and steve, you're not the boss of me. i read it.

Alas, I fear that the songs I might retaliate with could be ones that predate you. I guess I'll have to spare you this time.

I don't make people read my posts. I even explicitly informed people that they should not read it. Yet, somehow I come across as the bad guy. Alas.
