This blog is a collection of what goes through the mind of a father, a husband, a son, a friend, a lawyer (not your lawyer), and a storyteller, all competing for attention in my head. The golden rule applies here.

To Dream the Impossible Dream
Don Quixote is a tremendous story, and quite compelling. The movie version of the musical isn't the best (they refer to the author as Mig-well de Cerv-ant-ese), but Sophia Loren and James Coco do their parts well. It's hard not to be motivated by this story, at least for me. If you get the chance, read the book, unless you find the book is too wordy, in which case, watch the musical, it's worth it.

It's so stirring that song :o)
i really think it's telling that i think the book is too wordy.
cuz i am a touch chatty.
The book was, of course, far superior to the musical. (Books always win.) :-)
I posted, so there! :^)
I'm with English Professor, the books are always better. The movie producers never seem to be able to make the movie look like the story that plays out in your head when you read a book. Maybe I'm crazy. (Steve, be quiet or I'm telling mom.)
I have had people tell me that _The Bridges of Madison County_ was a better movie than book, but I neither read the book nor saw the movie, so I can't weigh in on that one.
Hello???? Steve, where are ya????? I posted today, did you?
Hey, English Professor...I tried to read the book (Bridges) and it bored me to tears. So I tried to watch the movie, and it bored me to tears. Congratulations on avoiding all those boring tears.
